Bestari is a highly accomplished Chartered Accountant and a distinguished member of both the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and CPA Australia. With over three decades of expertise in accounting, auditing, and financial management, he began his career at Ernst & Young in 1990, gaining invaluable experience across local and multinational corporations.
His strategic acumen was instrumental in designing the monitoring and compliance framework for companies under the Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation's BioNexus program, ensuring regulatory adherence and operational efficiency. As Director of Economic Corridors at Teraju Corporation, Bestari played a key role in shaping and executing developmental initiatives across Malaysia’s five Economic Corridors, driving economic growth and business empowerment. Additionally, he was a pivotal force behind the launch of the nationwide SUPERB (Young Bumiputera Entrepreneurs' Scheme) program, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among emerging business leaders.

His extensive experience spans Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas, with a focus on privately owned and financed submarine cable systems.
Previously, Tom served as Vice President at Ocean Specialists, Inc., contributing to major submarine cable projects. He is also a recognized industry thought leader, frequently publishing and speaking on global telecom trends.
TSA is honored to be selected by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency and Hexa Capital Consultancy to lead the MYUS Cable project, with contracts signed at the APEC CEO Summit 2023 in San Francisco.
