MYUS Cable is Poised to be The Pivot in Advancing Malaysia’s Position as a Regional Digital Hub.
On 19 February 2025, Mr.S.Siva met with Malaysian-owned HEXA MYUS to discuss the Malaysia-U.S. (MYUS) Cable project, a groundbreaking fiber-optic undersea cable network. This initiative will connect Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines to the United States (Florence, Oregon) via Guam, Hawaii, and the Pacific Northwest, significantly enhancing regional and global connectivity.
The meeting provided an opportunity to delve deeper into the development and potential of the MYUS Cable, which aligns closely with Malaysia’s digital economy goals. By enabling high-speed connectivity, robust data security, and new investment opportunities, the MYUS Cable is poised to play a pivotal role in advancing Malaysia’s position as a regional digital hub.
MIDA will continue to collaborate closely with HEXA, facilitating regulatory processes, exploring strategic partnerships, and driving investments to ensure the successful implementation of the MYUS Cable and its long-term benefits for Malaysia.
